Meet Chika
I'm Chika Fisk. I was born and raised in Japan, and I now live in Auckland with my husband and three children.
I started Japan360 because I saw too many New Zealanders coming back from Japan with stories that were good but could have been so much better. They had ticked off Tokyo, Kyoto, and Mount Fuji, and they had eaten enough sushi. But they had also stood in queues, missed the small experiences that make Japan genuinely Japan, and paid more than they should have because the trip was booked through agencies that don't actually work in Japan.
I knew it could be done better. So I built Japan360 to do it the way I wished people coming to my home country could experience it.
My background
Before Japan360, I worked in the travel industry for more than twenty years on both sides of the Pacific.
I started my career with a major travel agency in Japan, working with international travellers visiting Japan and Japanese travellers heading overseas. After that, I worked for a Japanese study abroad agency, where I travelled with student groups to Australia and New Zealand. That work is what brought me to New Zealand in the first place, and it's also where I learned how international travel works from the other direction. What it feels like to land somewhere foreign and need someone to make it easy.
That experience is the foundation of how Japan360 runs. I know what New Zealand travellers need from a Japan trip because I've seen both sides. I know which Japanese suppliers are reliable and which aren't, because I've worked with them in Japanese for years. And I know what it actually costs to put a Japan trip together, so the prices our travellers pay reflect that, with no middleman taking a cut along the way.
Why Japan360 exists
Japan is one of the most rewarding destinations in the world for New Zealand travellers. It's safe, immaculate, deeply interesting, and the people are quietly welcoming in a way that surprises most first-time visitors.
But it's also one of the easiest destinations to get wrong. The standard tour route covers the famous places, but it misses the small details that make a Japan trip genuinely yours. The food experiences that aren't in the guidebooks. The neighbourhood you'd have walked right past. The ryokan that takes one booking a night. The seasonal experience that's only running for two weeks.

I run every trip personally. Every itinerary is designed by someone who grew up in Japan, speaks Japanese natively, and works directly with the suppliers in their own language.

Japan360 books directly with hotels, ryokan, transport partners, and activity providers in Japan. No reseller layer, no commission stack. The travellers we work with pay what the trip actually costs to put together.
Fully customised, never templated
Every Japan360 trip is built from scratch. There are no fixed itineraries, no scheduled departures, no fixed group sizes. The trip is whatever shape makes sense for the people travelling.
One direct point of contact
Travellers work with me directly from the first enquiry through to the trip itself. No call centre, no handover between salespeople, no "your consultant has changed". One conversation, start to finish.

What I offer travellers
Japan360 designs custom trips around five core trip types: family holidays, ski trips, group trips with friends, first-time Japan visits, and nature and onsen escapes. We also build school tours, sports tours, and milestone celebrations. Every trip is fully customised. There are no fixed packages.
I handle every part of the trip once you're in Japan: accommodation, transport, activities, restaurant bookings, and on-the-ground support throughout the trip. International flights are arranged separately by the traveller, which keeps you in control of the airline, routing, and frequent flyer programme of your choice.

A personal note
I grew up in Japan. I have raised my own children in New Zealand. Living between two cultures has given me a real appreciation for what each one does well. New Zealand travellers, in my experience, are looking for something genuine when they go overseas. They don't want to be on a coach with sixty other people. They want the trip to feel like theirs.
